Hair Transplant Recovery - A Few Tips to Make It Easier
While it does take time to recover from a hair transplant, the good news is that the recovery time is limited. Patents can go home the same day, with limited discomfort. The recovery time will depend on the severity of the hair loss and the number of grafts. The surgeon may give the patient Prednisone to reduce the swelling and antibiotics to prevent infection. Life should return to normal the day after your transplant. However there are a few tips that you should consider doing to make the recovery as quick and easy as possible. These tips are as follows:
- Don't overdo it. Rest is the best thing to do after surgery. Make sure you elevate the head when lying down. Also don't do any bending which will cause unnecessary blood flow to your head.
- Avoid aspirin for a week afterwards because aspirin things the blood. Your doctor should prescribe painkillers that are safe.
- Avoid alcohol and heavy exercise for a week or so.
Within a week after surgery stitches will be removed. You'll then be able to go out in public and proudly show off your new hair!
